Emerging leaders were awarded grants in the inaugural year of our Thomas J. Ruffen Community Leadership Fund, in partnership with The Boston Foundation. These four Bostonians were given seed funding to launch new efforts across the civic, service, or entrepreneurship sectors.

Names, two cities, one vision. On September 30th, we launched in Springfield and officially became known as just ‘Union Capital.’ We are proud to be working with our new Springfield community partners and deepening connections with our Boston community partners to bring our vision of social capital to both cities.

THEMES COVERED IN THIS REPORT

This year, Union Capital expanded our social capital model to a second city, deepened our commitment to growing and supporting leaders in our communities, and reflected on nine years of service to inform the road ahead.

We continued our commitment to our members and partners by hosting events and community gatherings that welcomed a cumulative total of over 10,000 attendees, awarding members over $150k across our two cities for their engagement, and soliciting robust member feedback to improve future programming.
