David R. Leslie Fund

Honoring a Life of Service, Family, and Community

The David R. Leslie Fund honors David Leslie (1947–2023), father of Union Capital’s founder and Lead Organizer, Eric Leslie. Established in recognition of David’s generous support of Union Capital over the years, this small fund carries forward his commitment to serving others.

David was an avid skier and hiker, a passionate Boston sports fan, and proud of his Scottish ancestry. At the heart of his life were two enduring priorities: service to others and devotion to his family.

As an educator, David taught at Landmark School and Charles River Academy, served as principal of Palfrey Street School, and led the Threshold Program at Lesley University as Executive Director. His commitment to community also included serving as Executive Director of the Cambridge Civic Association and Food For Free, along with service on several nonprofit boards dedicated to education and protecting democracy. Above all, David cherished his friends and family.

Through this fund, Union Capital honors David’s generosity and dedication to community by providing modest financial support for projects.
